Day 1: Madison

Brendan arrived in Madison last night. We ate Chinese food and he fell asleep watching Anthony Bourdain. Exciting stuff!

Today was a little more eventful, including walking miles in 80 degree heat, lunch at the Old Fashioned with lots of ice water, errands, and getting caught in a torrential downpour with impressive thunder and lightening. I think we were the wettest people in Madison today, so I hope we did Portland proud. We were judged throughout the day, though (just like Mom predicted). Otherwise, it's been a relaxing evening of watching The Wire and GETTING EXCITED.
